CLARISA ARAGÓN & JONATHAN SAAVEDRA – Another View on Tango Musicality

Another View on Tango Musicality
CLARISA ARAGÓN & JONATHAN SAAVEDRA

Clarisa & Jonathan are celebrators of music. When watching them dance, you feel like tango music comes to life, becoming the guide. And so, the two dancers merge into one, where music is the other entity of the tango couple. Clarisa & Jonathan celebrate the silence between notes, to only later, with an unexpected intensity, almost devour them. And then, they would go to the other end of the spectrum. Through a sudden or smooth passage, they would employ the sweetest energy, in order to barely step on just some of the notes…

Why this

This collection is the continuation of the learning journey you started in Clarisa & Jonathan’s previous collection on tango musicality called “Music Runs through our Tango’s Veins”. It is an invitation to submit yourself to the music, and with sustained meticulousness, your purposeful musical interpretation will arise! It’s so selfish and selfless to dance tango when you merge with your partner, and then the two of you amalgamate with the music… For a few minutes, you forget that anything else exists.

8 lessons

01 Music Interpretation. Textures in the Music
Welcome to the second level of musicality, where our focus shifts towards interpretation rather than solely building the technical foundation laid out in the previous collection on musicality. Musical interpretation is a highly personal endeavor, allowing for the exploration of your unique expression in dance. In this lesson, though, Clarisa & Jonathan will introduce you to the interpretation tools they utilize in their own dancing, enabling you to discover new dimensions of musicality and refine your own interpretation further.

02 Music Defining the Movement
In this lesson, we’ll be exploring the idea of finding powerful motions in our legs for the moments when we want to emphasize specific steps. However, it’s important to note that our focus is not on forcefully pounding the floor, as this can potentially harm our joints. Instead, we will train to imbue our leg movements with a striking effect, while controlling our leg’s encounter with the floor. Clarisa & Jonathan will employ visual metaphors to enhance our learning experience and help us effectively attain these desired effects.

03 Musicality: Technique vs. Feelings
We often encounter the notion that we must dance differently to various tango orchestras, which can lead us to develop distinct sets of steps for each orchestra. However, this approach misses the mark. The essence lies in recognizing that different orchestras infuse their tango music with unique qualities and personalities. And so, as dancers, our focus should be on adjusting our attitude and imbuing our movements with the emotion we get to feel at that moment. In this lesson, Clarisa & Jonathan will guide you in embodying the sentiments evoked by a particular orchestra through your own dance expression.

04 Musicality: Orchestras Differentiation
In this lesson, you’ll have the opportunity to apply the skills you acquired in the previous session, specifically by dancing the same sequence to different orchestras. The concept here is to utilize the same dance resources while incorporating varying energies and qualities of movement. It all begins with the art of questioning things…

05 Choosing the Part of the Music You’ll Put in the Spotlight
Now, let’s shift our attention to the process of choosing music. Selecting the right moments to highlight is a must have skill in dance creativity. As we go deeper into exploring the music, experimenting with leading on different beats and gaining mastery over the details of the tango music, we may find ourselves wanting to dance every beat, every detail. However, in doing so, we risk diluting the power of our dance and losing its impactful message. In this lesson you’ll learn how to prevent that…

06 Music Interpretation. Choosing the Quality and Color of the Way We Dance 1
This is a favorite topic for Clarisa & Jonathan, and it’s a continuous voyage of learning and creativity. There are numerous ways we can interpret the tango music in our dance. This is a profoundly personal endeavor, shaped by the mood we inhabit while dancing, the responses we receive from our partner regarding our musical propositions, and other factors. In this lesson, you will acquire and practice remarkable tools that can enrich your creativity when translating music into the language of tango.

07 Music Interpretation. Choosing the Quality and Color of the Way We Dance 2
Now, let’s conclude the idea of musical interpretation that we began exploring in the previous lesson, with a few more concepts and exercises. It is often said that dancers are like an additional instrument within an orchestra. While we don’t play a violin, bandoneon, or piano, we play our bodies, and our contribution to the orchestra is expressed visually rather than audibly. Through our dance, we possess the remarkable ability to make a song stand out. And as fellow “musicians” in this orchestra, it is essential that we tune into the collective.

08 Dissociating Musical Interpretation. Dancing on Different Bits Inside the Couple
Clarisa & Jonathan have prepared a delightful challenge! Each of you will step on a different beat, yet this doesn’t mean you will break the communication inside the couple. Tango, after all, is a dance of non-verbal communication, and disrupting it would diminish its essence. As the famous saying goes, “It takes two to tango.” So, in order for the leader and the follower to step on different beats, we will apply the concept of dissociating the lead. In this lesson you’ll learn everything about it.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Innovative Business Model:
    • Embrace the reality of a genuine business! Our approach involves forming a group buy, where we collectively share the costs among members. Using these funds, we purchase sought-after courses from sale pages and make them accessible to individuals facing financial constraints. Despite potential reservations from the authors, our customers appreciate the affordability and accessibility we provide.
  2. The Legal Landscape: Yes and No:
    • The legality of our operations falls into a gray area. While we lack explicit approval from the course authors for resale, there’s a technicality at play. When procuring the course, the author didn’t specify any restrictions on resale. This legal nuance presents both an opportunity for us and a boon for those seeking budget-friendly access.
  3. Quality Assurance: Unveiling the Real Deal:
    • Delving into the heart of the matter – quality. Acquiring the course directly from the sale page ensures that all documents and materials are identical to those obtained through conventional means. However, our differentiator lies in going beyond personal study; we take an extra step by reselling. It’s important to note that we are not the official course providers, meaning certain premium services aren’t included in our package:
      • No coaching calls or scheduled sessions with the author.
      • No access to the author’s private Facebook group or web portal.
      • No entry to the author’s exclusive membership forum.
      • No direct email support from the author or their team.

We operate independently, aiming to bridge the affordability gap without the additional services offered by official course channels. Your understanding of our unique approach is greatly appreciated.

Refund is acceptable:

  • Firstly, item is not as explained
  • Secondly, Item do not work the way it should.
  • Thirdly, and most importantly, support extension can not be used.

Thank you for choosing us! We’re so happy that you feel comfortable enough with us to forward your business here.
